Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: 26 March 2026

Welcome to BakoBoatTickets.com. By using our website and booking our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions.

1. Booking and Payments

  • Full Payment: All bookings require 100% upfront payment via our secure payment gateway (Stripe). Your booking is only confirmed once payment is successful and an E-Ticket has been issued.
  • Pricing: All prices are listed in Ringgit Malaysia (MYR). Prices are all-inclusive of transaction and processing fees; no additional surcharges will be added at checkout.
  • Accuracy: It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure that names, IC/Passport numbers, and dates entered during booking are accurate.

2. Boat Operations & Capacity

  • Passenger Limit: Each boat has a maximum capacity of 5 passengers. Groups larger than 5 will be split into multiple boats.
  • Shared Boats: Unless a Private Charter is booked, boats will only depart when they reach full capacity (5 passengers).
  • Punctuality: Passengers must arrive at the Kampung Bako Boat Terminal at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled departure. Failure to arrive on time may result in a forfeited booking.

3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

  • No Refunds: All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for boat transfers, guide services, or National Park entrance fees.
  • Rescheduling: You may request to reschedule your trip at least 24 hours or more before your original booking time. Requests made within 24 hours of departure will be denied.
  • No-Shows:
    • Standard Policy: If you miss your scheduled departure, your ticket is considered forfeited.
    • Grace Period (Join-In): At our sole discretion, “no-show” passengers may be allowed to join the next available Shared Boat if space permits.
    • Private Boat Requirement: If no other shared boat is available for your group that day, you will be required to upgrade to a Private Boat Charter to proceed to the park.
    • Top-up Fee: A mandatory RM150 upgrade fee must be paid in cash or via QR at the Bako Terminal to convert your booking to a Private Boat.

For a simplified summary of our rescheduling process, please see our Cancellation & Refund Policy.

4. Weather and Tidal Conditions (Force Majeure)

Bako National Park is a coastal destination subject to extreme tidal changes and weather conditions.

  • Safety First: The Sarawak Rivers Board and our boat operators reserve the right to delay or cancel departures for safety reasons.
  • Operator Cancellation: If a trip is cancelled by the operator due to weather or tide, a reschedule will be issued. We are not liable for incidental costs (e.g., flights or hotels) resulting from these delays.

5. National Park Entrance Fees

  • Third-Party Terms: Entrance fees are collected on behalf of the Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC).
  • Strict Non-Refundability: In accordance with SFC policy, entrance fees are strictly non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-exchangeable. If you reschedule your boat trip, you may be required to purchase new entrance permits if the original ones expire.

6. Tour Guide Services

  • Availability: Guide bookings are subject to the availability of registered Bako Park Guides.
  • Rescheduling: Guides may be rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability. Guide fees are non-refundable.

7. Limitation of Liability

BakoBoatTickets.com (Syarikat Wan Ambi) acts as a booking intermediary. We are not responsible for any personal injury, loss or damage to property, or travel delays occurring during the boat transfer or within Bako National Park. We strongly recommend all travelers obtain comprehensive travel insurance.

8. Privacy & Data Protection

By booking, you consent to the collection of your personal data (Name, IC/Passport) for the purpose of passenger manifesting and insurance compliance as required by Malaysian law (PDPA 2010).
