Sarawak’s Oldest Park
Established in 1957, Bako offers a perfect introduction to Sarawak’s forests and wildlife, situated on the Muara Tebas peninsula where the river meets the sea.
Bako contains almost every type of vegetation found in Borneo. Within its relatively small area, you can experience seven distinct ecosystems including mangroves, peat swamp forests, and coastal cliff vegetation.

Borneo’s endemic “long-nosed” monkeys are the stars of the park, but they share the canopy with many other rare species.

Experience the jungle after dark to spot nocturnal creatures like tarsiers, slow lorises, and phosphorescent fungi.
With 16* color-coded trekking trails ranging from easy strolls to full-day jungle expeditions, there’s a path for everyone. The trails offer breathtaking viewpoints over the South China Sea.
*Currently only 7 trails are open to the public.

Protect the pristine beauty of Sarawak’s natural heritage.
